Sima (UK) Ltd
We are a specialist coaching company - a company that enables people to understand their motivation and develop further in their careers and their lives.
In 1961 Art Miller created the SIMAŽ process, and developed a successful consulting business in the USA. In 1986 he founded Sima (UK) Ltd so that British businesses could benefit from the sima process.
In 1988 Dr Nick Isbister was invited to take on the development of Sima (UK) Ltd in the UK and Europe. From the outset we positioned ourselves as experts in ‘change management’. We created successful programmes for parts of ICI, for one of the specialist areas of the MOD, for IBM (throughout Europe), for WHSmith and for smaller SME’s and charities.
As time has gone on we have increasingly come to appreciate the value of our unique proprietary process, and the brand of SIMAŽ. We have built our services around our branded programmes and pioneered the application of sima into a series of coaching services. The momentum for this has come in large measure from Jude Elliman who joined the business in 1992.
Our flagship programme is the sima 5 step programme, an executive coaching process for senior people (directors, partners in professional service firms, and ‘talent’ in all companies). The process is in regular use in a wide variety of organisations, for instance: BT, BP, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, O2 and Vodafone.
The Who do you think you are? coaching programme makes SIMAŽ accessible to many more people. We offer this coaching to people ourselves and train people who want to become coaches; Directors of HR, HR Professionals, Learning and Development Specialists, Managers and Consultants have all become successful coaches in organisations as diverse as: BP, Oxfam, Bible Society, PwC and Vodafone.
A one-day workshop using SIMAŽ has been designed for line managers and anyone with responsibility for staff development. We have also created a mentoring programme for young people called It’s InU2. We train mentors to work with young people helping them to discover their real strengths, make decisions and set goals for their future.
We are members of the People Management International Partnership (PMI LLC) that promotes and regulates the use of SIMAŽ worldwide. Sima (UK) Ltd has sole licensing rights to use SIMAŽ and develop its use in other organisations in the UK and most of Europe.
From its origins in 1986 our unique perspective on motivation has enabled us to establish a track record in helping people at points of change in their lives and earned us a reputation for delivering real value to individuals and organisations.
