SIMAŽ stands for the System for Identifying Motivated Abilities (often to referred to more simply as sima).

Everyone has a unique pattern of gifts and skills, the things you do well and which you most enjoy doing. These are your ‘motivated abilities’; it is when you use them that you feel involved and fulfilled. They are your natural inner tools, directing what you want to do and how you choose to go about it.

The sima process enables people to identify and make the most of their strengths. Sima is used by both individuals and organisations and, in the past forty years, has helped tens of thousands of people to discover their natural inner strengths. Sima is used throughout the world: in Asia, Australia and New Zealand, as well as all over the USA and Europe. In the UK it is increasingly being recognised as an alternative choice for people wanting in-depth insight into their strengths and weaknesses.

Two types of abilities

If you take a look at all the tasks you do during a typical week, you’ll see that you use a remarkable array of skills and abilities. However, you don’t find all of them equally engaging. These skills can be divided into two categories: ‘can-do’ skills and motivated abilities.

Can-do Skills

As the name implies, these are the skills you are capable of using with some proficiency, but which do not give you personal satisfaction.

Motivated Abilities

These are the abilities and activities that:

Many people lose track of time when these abilities are engaged. They represent you at your best.

Sima will identify these for you.

What else will sima do for you?

Sima does much more than distinguish between your motivated abilities and those ‘can-do’ skills. It is a comprehensive system.

Sima helps you to understand how you work at your best and the environment in which you perform well and are most productive. It describes the circumstances that energise you as well as those that frustrate and block you.

Sima describes the subject matters that interest you, that you enjoy being involved with on a regular basis.

Sima clarifies how you relate to others, in order to give of your best. It shows you the roles that you are most comfortable with and in which you function most effectively.

Most importantly, Sima identifies the results you consistently try to achieve. It explains the driving force behind your actions and enthusiasms; it provides a key to your satisfaction and purpose in life.

The sima process starts with you

The reason sima works so well is because it starts with you. It doesn’t impose theories or paradigms from the outside. It is not a test and does not depend on how you perform in an interview. Instead, it concentrates on the information that you provide about a subject you already know well - your own history.

It uses your story, told in your way, using your own words.

You already have all the information you need to complete the sima process successfully. It is in your memory. All that is needed is for us to work together with you, to uncover, collate and interpret it.
